Estimate that 1000 are detailed in USA & Canada; with a few hosted multi-picture pages and the majority direct links to outside pages. Has about 15,000 basic listings with name, address, phone & email in U.S., with some badly outdated info.
Description:
From home page, select 'Bed & Breakfast', then select country. On US page, select state from map or text. State page has general regional map, then detailed listings by region, then list of all cities with listings. For basic listings, select a city and get inns alpha by inn name).
"Browse" form home page allows enter a city, state and type of lodging to get list from that city.
Quality Assurance:
Shows inn affiliations on main state list (for premium listings).
Other:
Connects to outside on-line availability on some hosted pages. Has links to weather & Mapquest® map for each city. Has association links, but only available from "Browse" page.
Innkeeper Info:
Promotion: Uses keyword on B&B and applies keywords to inn pages, but not consistently.
Rates: Free basic with email; directory page with hotlink is $20, 1500 words plus 4 pics for $60.
Guide advised in 2005 that it is moving toward hotel bookings but will continue to list B&Bs, but will not emphasize them.
